Scholarship Opportunities:

Malta’s higher education system is open to international students, with over 600 full-time foreign students and 300 students participating in semester exchanges. While no scholarships are currently available, students are encouraged to enroll in higher education institutions. Heiler Co. Higher Education System in Malta:

Higher education in Malta is primarily offered by the University of Malta, and is structured into several stages:

1. University Level First Stage: Certificates, Diplomas, and Bachelor’s Degrees are offered in various fields such as nursing, law, arts, and management. A Bachelor’s General Degree can be earned in three years, while a Bachelor’s Honours Degree requires four to five years of study depending on the discipline.

2. University Level Second Stage: Master’s Degrees are awarded after one to two years of study, requiring a relevant Bachelor’s degree with at least second-class Honours. Students without an Honours degree may be admitted by taking a one-year preparatory course and passing a qualifying exam. A dissertation is required in addition to coursework for a Master’s degree.

3. Doctorate Degrees: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Law (LLD), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees are offered. The MD and LLD programs take 5-6 years to complete, while PhD candidates pursue a minimum of three years of research following their Master’s degree and must submit a thesis on an approved topic.
